QUBIT Quest: Quantum for everyone

Quantum computers use the strange rules of physics to solve problems that are very hard for ordinary computers, and the world will need curious people to program them, secure them and apply them. QUBIT Quest is a free learning track that takes you from your first big idea about qubits to a portfolio worthy of a quantum developer. Every resource is free to start, and we flag the few places where a certificate or exam costs money.

No physics degree is needed to begin. The track has 4 pages, five pillars and a free 6 to 12 month roadmap, and your Curiosity Coach can adapt it for any age or level.

The five Q.U.B.I.T. pillars

Quantum foundations · Understanding the math · Building circuits · Industry algorithms · Transition to career. Each page belongs to one or two pillars, and together they take you from curious to capable.

Q

Q · Quantum foundations

Meet qubits, superposition, entanglement and measurement in plain language, with no jargon wall.

Page: Quantum Foundations & the Math

U

U · Understanding the math

Just enough complex numbers and linear algebra to read a circuit, with friendly free courses and videos.

Page: Quantum Foundations & the Math

B

B · Building circuits

Write and run your first circuit in a browser, compare free SDKs and try real quantum hardware.

Page: Quantum Programming

I

I · Industry algorithms

Learn what Grover, Shor, VQE, QAOA and quantum machine learning do, and what today's hardware can and cannot do.

Your free roadmap

A suggested order that builds skills step by step. The timings are estimates for a learner giving 5 to 8 hours a week, and your coach can speed it up or slow it down.

1

Months 1-2: Foundations and the math

Learn the big ideas, then brush up complex numbers and linear algebra with free courses and videos.

Pillars: Q · U

2

Months 3-4: Build your first circuits

Pick an SDK, run circuits in a simulator and then on real quantum hardware.

Pillar: B

3

Months 4-6: Learn the industry algorithms

Explore Grover, Shor, VQE, QAOA and quantum machine learning, and practise on small problems.

Pillar: I

4

Months 6-12: Transition to a career

Join a community program, contribute to open source, build a small portfolio and choose a role. Paid exams stay an optional later step.

Pillar: T

QUBIT Quest FAQ

No. QUBIT Quest starts with plain-language ideas and builds the math slowly. If you can follow a good video and try a simulator, you can begin.
Yes, every step on the roadmap can be completed for $0. A few providers charge for badge exams or certificates, and the pages label those clearly as optional.
Curious learners from about 12 up can use the foundations and simulators, and the Foundations page lists programs for younger students. Coaches adapt the pace to the learner.
Yes. The Programming page shows free ways to run circuits in a simulator and on real quantum hardware through providers' free tiers. Check each provider's current terms.
The roadmap builds the skills and a portfolio that employers look for, but nobody can promise a job. The Careers page is honest about roles, certifications and costs.
A coach agrees a plan with you, answers the “why” questions and uses the coaching prompts and 4-week plans on each page. Book a coach with the button on this page.
